With our diaries fast filling up with parties, dinner dates and festive get-togethers, we’ll need some stylish looks to see us through the season. The best outfits will work for several occasions so you can dress them up and down, and will remain a firm favourite in your wardrobe for years to come.
Hourglass Shapes
This was a catwalk favourite for AW and nails it for the party season. It’s an elegant and timeless look that never goes out of style. Look for embellishments for detail or twists on the black dress with off-the-shoulder styles.
Velvety Smooth
Velvet gives you a smoother silhouette, plus its warm for winter. What’s not to love? An empire line dress with a Bardot top is super-flattering. A velvet jumpsuit or long-sleeved works for all those festive occasions, from work parties to Christmas Day.
Statement Metallic
Silver, gold, bronze and even gunmetal are the go-to shades this season. You can also take it down a notch in a smooth satin slip dress that has a metallic sheen in softer hues such as mink, caramel and dusky pink. Metallic accessories, meanwhile, can pep up your perennial black dress or trouser suit wardrobe staple.
All that glitters
It’s a Christmas party go-to for good reason. Bring some sparkle to the festive season with sequins. There are some stunning styles around right-now from floor-length gowns to bomber-jackets that are perfect to add over a black dress or wear for a less dressy occasion with dark jeans.
Wear on repeat
Those versatile separates that you can wear in so many ways. Dress up a sequin skirt for party night, wear with thick tights and boots for dinner dates and drinks.
Hair and beauty, too
Book your hair appointment and beauty treatments way in advance for this busy season. Tick off your manicure (a gel mani can last for a couple of weeks) and eyebrow shaping and tinting (book a few days before a party to clear up any redness and to lose some of that initial pigment that can be quite strong).
