The power of a great hair cut is truly amazing. Add colour and the result is magical. Winter is the perfect time to embrace a new look. Hair expert Gina Conway says it is a time to refresh and renew, adding in some caramel and chestnut tones, using techniques such as micro lights. Chris Williams, international colour director at Rush Hair, is keeping colours rich with blackberry colours infused with pink and red tones, using a halo technique, which works well with this beautiful rich shade. A strong creative look, with colour, vibrancy, reflection and giving incredible shine. Kane at Rush in Surbiton introduced me to my new favourite after-colour treatment, which is L’Oréal Smartbond, a new generation of bond strengthening systems, fantastic for aftercolour protection.

Hare & Bone in Esher, a Sam Burnett salon, creates some of the hottest fashion catwalk trends. It notes that this season, blondes are brighter with warmer strawberry tones whilst browns are cooler with metallic bronze tones. A new delicate technique called Babylights, subtle dimensional hair colouring, can be added to any colour and any length plus Babylights are low maintenance.

My secret to beautiful shiny healthy hair is a well-balanced diet but sometimes your hair just needs extra support.
