Halliford is a warm-hearted School based on strong family values where we are proud to know and be respectful of every student as an individual. Our theme ‘Come as you are, Go as all you can be’ perfectly encapsulates our mission to encourage and support Hallifordians to flourish and become the best version of themselves that they can possibly be during their seven-year journey with us from age 11 to 18.

HEAD’S WELCOME

At Halliford School, we aim for excellence by being academically ambitious but at the same time academically sensitive. We inspire Hallifordians within a community that is founded on high-quality teaching and learning, outstanding pastoral care and first-class sporting, cultural and extra-curricular opportunities.

We recognise that a child’s potential could lie anywhere – so we ensure that every student is exposed to a vast array of opportunities and experiences. We then pride ourselves on identifying and honing their strengths to make the most of their natural abilities while assisting in every way to develop any areas that might need further improvement.

SIXTH FORM

The Halliford School Sixth Form is an environment that fosters aspirational and forward-thinking men and women who seek to make a positive contribution to their community. We firmly believe that a co-educational environment in Sixth Form provides the best preparation for later life, both at university and beyond. During these most important two years of your school journey, our students will study a combination of three or four A Levels, which are complemented with a range of academic, cultural, and charitable enrichment opportunities to ensure you leave Halliford ready to embrace what the world has to offer, and ready to meet any challenges that university or the wider world of work may bring.

PASTORAL CARE

Renowned for our outstanding pastoral care, we work hard to create a community where our students can come together, where they are encouraged to flourish, where they can feel safe and comfortable, confident and proud, stimulated and inspired and, most of all, happy.

ACADEMIC RESULTS

We are proud that our students achieve excellent results year on year. In 2021 our GCSE students secured another set of excellent results with 97.7% of all examinations at a Grade 4 or higher. At A Level, we once again secured an outstanding 100% pass rate with over three-quarters of all grades at A* – B and nearly 95% of all grades at A* – C. This is a remarkable achievement and meant that nearly all our students managed to secure their first-choice university place.

FACILITIES

The School has seen continued expansion in recent years and has an impressive array of facilities, including a dedicated theatre, classroom blocks, technology building, multi-purpose sports hall, gymnasium and sports pitches, both at school and on a nearby separate site. Over the last few years, we have invested heavily in new facilities within the School, including a new state-of-the-art Sixth Form Study Centre, IT suites, two new Science Laboratories and an iMac music composition suite.

Since September 2021, we have been marking our Centenary with an exciting programme of events. The Woodward Building, which was opened in November 2021 by our Chair of Governors, Mr Ken Woodward, contains an impressive Learning Resource Centre on the ground floor and six spacious new classrooms and associated facilities on the first and second floors.

CO-CURRICULAR

At Halliford School, we pride ourselves on our co-curricular offering, with an extensive range of clubs and activities running each week from Duke of Edinburgh to Cookery Club, Climbing Club to Dungeons and Dragons, and from Rock Band to Podcast Club. This, alongside our teaching, enables students to become the best version of themselves that they can possibly be.

Co-curricular activities and sports play a significant role in the life of each student and of the School as a whole. The policy of the School is that every student should be involved in at least two co-curricular or sporting activities each week. In practice, most are involved in many more.
