Flagship Magazine Sales Manager

Are you an experienced, ambitious sales person who loves taking a leading role and ownership of your magazine titles?

We are looking for a Sales Manager for our flagship magazine for Wimbledon, Putney and Wandsworth. It is an amazing opportunity to lead on an established, trusted and well-read magazine that has a large readership, fantastic response from readers and a long list of loyal advertisers.

It is a pivotal role in the sales team, so you’ll need to be able to demonstrate your excellent sales skills and ability to build great relationships. You will be managing regular advertisers as well as generating new leads and feature ideas.

Knowledge of SW London, in particular Wimbledon and Putney will be advantageous. You will be working as part of an established, experienced sales team alongside dedicated local editors.

Time & Leisure magazine is an independent publishing company established over 20 years. It has a huge readership of 312,000 across SW London and Surrey, delivered monthly to affluent residential homes.

Responsibilities and Duties

The role involves managing a small team and reaching personal and magazine targets for the Wimbledon, Putney and Wandsworth area. It involves some lead sourcing (though there are plenty of prospects on our sales system), and a strong focus on sales both over the phone and face to face. Ideal candidates will demonstrate the ability to grow business from existing customers as well as generate significant levels of new business from their territory.

Qualifications and Skills

We are looking for experience in advertising sales at all levels. We are more interested in ability and attitude than qualifications, as well as evidence of a hunger to learn & achieve.

Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate good written and spoken English, the ability to create and build relationships across a wide range of business sectors, and the energy, tenacity and creativity to create solutions for our clients and convert these to committed sales.


Base salary is competitive and dependent on experience. Bonus is based on performance against target, but is uncapped. There are additional incentives for digital sales, new business, sponsorships and distribution. There is also a contributory pension scheme.
